Spark Energy Products and Services

Spark Energy is a large energy company that has operations in multiple jurisdictions across the United States. They boost over 700,000 customers for their electricity and natural gas products. They are based out of Houston and do business in Texas as a retail electricity provider.

Spark was established in 1999. Today they are a publicly traded company under the name VIA Renewables and listed on the NASDAQ with the ticker symbol VIA. They sell electricity in Texas and other energy products in 15 other states. Their electricity plans include both traditional and renewable energy plans sold to homes and businesses.

In addition to renewable electricity products they also offer a carbon neutral natural gas program. This program works by purchasing carbon offset credits equal to the carbon footprint of the natural gas used by the consumer participating the program.
