The result of all this is not a preset electricity rate but, rather, a formula that is applied to your bill each month. Once the formula is applied the total dollar amount of your bill is known. With the amount of your bill known, you can back into an average electricity rate. But only after the fact.

The way providers market specific electric rates is by determining what that average electricity rate would be based on three hypothetical levels of electricity usage. These levels are

–              500 kWh – the rough amount of electricity that might be used by a Haslet apartment
