Which is the Cheapest Electricity Company in Sulphur Springs?

The only way to find the cheapest electric companies in Sulphur Springs, TX is to compare today’s rates.  This is because there is so much churning in the Texas electricity market that no one ever has the cheapest electricity rate for long.  Texas is an extremely competitive energy market.

Also, the best electricity provider for your situation may be different than the best electricity provider for someone else’s situation.  Companies design plans to target specific market segments.  While a provider may have the best rate for people that use around 2000 kilowatt hours of electricity, the pricing structure of their plans may make them relatively more expensive for someone who uses only 500 kWhs of electricity monthly.

Also, they may have great rates in Sulphur Springs but be more expensive in other parts of Texas.  This is why our electricity rate comparison tool aggregates all the information you need into one easy to use comparison list.  You can narrow down your search to plans in your area that fit your electricity needs. This allows you to pick the perfect plan for your needs.

What is an Electricity Plan EFL?

Before you settle on an electricity plan, you should always read the fine print in the plan’s EFL.  EFL stands for Electricity Facts Label and every plan marketed to consumers in Texas must include one.  The EFL for each plan is updated everytime rates are updated.

You will find a link to the EFL for every plan listed on Vault electricity.

Every EFL is required to contain certain important facts such as the average electricity rate for 500, 1000, and 2000 kWhs.  Depending on how the cost of the plan is structured these three rates can be dramatically different.  It is important to make sure that you are comparing rates based on  the usage level that represents the amount of electricity you expect to use.

If the rates among the three usage levels are very different, it could be a red flag that this is a plan that could be have gimmicks that make it hard to realize a good rate in the real world.

In the EFL you will also find the cancelation fees and the contract length of the plan.

Moving to Sulphur Springs, Texas?  Here Is What You Need to Know.

The name for this Texan city is derived from the literal sulphur springs that used to be in operation in the area. It was first the Native Americans who settled on the land and used the springs for the healing properties of the water. Other settlers came as well and eventually set up a store, a church, and a steam press for various news publications. A steam-powered factory also graced the community in the 1850’s and with the eventual move from the Pony Express to the railroads, so too the city started to diversify in population and economy. Currently, the population is about 16,000 total people.

Today some of the top employers in the city are Sulphur Springs ISD, Grocery Supply Company, Walmart, Hopkins County, Saputo Foods, Inc., and Flowserve. The Sulphur Springs median household income estimates put the city below the state average. But, good news for residents is that the cost of living is cheaper than the national average. Although, the job market has seen negative growth in recent times suggesting that a good number of people in the area are looking for work.

On the map, the nearest major city is 58 miles away (Tyler, Texas). Dallas is about 73 miles away from Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Sulphur Springs No Deposit Electricity Plans

If you have been asked to pay a deposit you can’t pay, here are your options.

Providers set their own credit requirements.  Some companies have easier credit requirements than others.  You can enroll in a plan with another electricity company and maybe they will ask for a smaller deposit or no deposit at all.

You can apply for a deposit waiver based on certain circumstances under which providers have no choice but to wave their requirement for a deposit. They are:

  • Proof of medical indigency
  • Proof that you are 65 years of age or older and not currently delinquent in payment for another electric company
  • Letter of credit from most recent electricity provider
  • Proof you are a victim of family violence

Prepaid electricity plans are another way to get around paying a deposit.  These plans allow you to get your electricity on with very little upfront.  The money you do put up goes directly toward paying for your electricity so it’s not a deposit.
