Grayson-Collin Electric Cooperative

Grayson-Collin Electric Cooperative was founded in 1937 as an electric company serving rural customers in Grayson and Collin Counties of North Texas.  They currently have 62,000 customers, with 59,00 of those being rural residential accounts.  Like most Texas electric co-ops, Grayson-Collin does not generate the electricity it distributes to its customer base.  They purchase the electricity from the open market, then resell it with an added fee added on to the electricity rate.

Grayson-Collin EC offers its customers the SmartHub online account system.  The SmartHub app is your key to reducing energy consumption and improving billing. View account information, monitor usage trends over time – all from the palm of your hand.  You can also make payments with this secure environment via mobile device or computer browser.  This is good system, certainly better than those offered by other electric cooperatives.

In addition to the SmartHub access, this electric company is eager to provide their customers with the best service possible. That’s why they offer net metering, which allows consumers who have private solar panels on their property or businesses to sell any extra electricity generated back into the grid at no cost.
