YEP Energy is one of several a Texas light companies owned by Texpo Energy. Their sister companies that operate in Texas include Nova Electric Co, Rio Power & Light, Southwest Power & Light, and Texpo Energy. They sell electricity and natural gas to businesses and homes in 10 states.

They are based in Houston Texas. The companies website states that they offer 100% renewable energy plans. This is actually lower than the states average of 25% renewable across all electricity generated and sold within Texas. The plans they offer are almost identical to those of their sister companies Southwest Power & Light and Texpo Energy but with different branding and different term lengths.

Pros and Cons of Solar Energy in Texas

Solar energy is a great way to power our homes and businesses, but there are also some downfalls. Solar energy is expensive to install, and the cost for installation can get even higher depending on where you live. The obvious benefits of solar energy are that it reduces dependence on fossil fuels. However, one downside of solar energy is that the sun only shines during the day and not at night.
