Infuse Energy Essential Infusion 6

Essential Infusion 6 is a short, six-month fixed-rate plan with a low energy rate and a small $2 monthly base fee. It’s a good fit if you want a competitive price without committing to a full year. Just be sure you’re set up for autopay, because the advertised price assumes it.

Vault Price Predictability Score: 5/5

Our Price Predictability Score tells you how easy it is to know what you’ll pay before the bill arrives. It’s not a measure of whether a plan is the cheapest. Essential Infusion 6 earns a perfect score because it has one fixed energy rate, no bill credits and no free-hours schedule. The small base fee only nudges your average rate up a little in low-usage months.

Is this plan a good fit for you?

Essential Infusion 6 makes sense if:

  • You want a low fixed rate but don’t want to commit for a year or more.
  • You expect to move or re-shop within about six months.
  • You’re comfortable with autopay.

You might look elsewhere if:

  • You’d rather not shop again so soon. Six months goes fast, and your renewal rate could be higher.
  • You don’t want to use autopay. The extra $5 a month adds about 1¢ per kWh at 500 kWh.
  • You have solar panels. This plan doesn’t buy back excess solar.

What your monthly bill would look like

Monthly use Estimated bill Average price
500 kWh (small apartment, mild month) $66.30 13.3¢/kWh
1,000 kWh (typical Texas home) $126.53 12.7¢/kWh
2,000 kWh (larger home, summer) $247.01 12.4¢/kWh

Your bill has three pieces:

  • Infuse’s fixed energy charge of 5.18¢ per kWh
  • Oncor’s delivery charge of about 6.87¢ per kWh
  • $6.06 in flat monthly charges ($2 from Infuse, $4.06 from Oncor)

Estimates don’t include taxes or small regulatory fees, and assume you’re on autopay. They’re examples, not actual customer bills.

Plan ahead for month six

Short contracts are great for flexibility, but they end quickly. Put a reminder on your calendar about 30 days before your contract ends so you can compare plans before you roll onto a renewal rate.

What if you need to leave early?

Canceling before the six months are up costs $150. On a contract this short, the fee will usually outweigh any savings from switching, so it’s best to ride it out.

Moving? The fee is waived when you give Infuse notice and proof of your move (within 90 days of moving out), along with a forwarding address. It’s also waived if you cancel within 14 days of the contract’s end date.

Fees, deposits and fine print

Fee Amount
Not on autopay $5 per bill
Late payment 5% of the past-due amount
Returned payment $35
Disconnect notice $10
Disconnection for nonpayment $50
Reconnection $35
Zero usage (no usage reported in a billing cycle) $5

Most of these only apply if something goes wrong with a payment.

Deposits: Infuse may ask for a deposit depending on your credit. You can avoid it with a good payment history letter from your current or past provider, a satisfactory credit rating, or if you’re 65 or older with no past-due balance, among other options listed in the Terms of Service.

What “fixed” covers: Infuse’s energy rate is locked for six months. Oncor’s delivery charges and certain regulatory fees can still change, and taxes apply.
